This homemade ginger ale is super refreshing and simple to prepare, made with just 3 ingredients, it's a delicious healthy soft drink alternative.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 big thumbs of ginger, approx 1 cup
- 2 lemons
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 5 cups of water
- Soda water (optional)
METHOD
- Roughly peel and chop the ginger into small disks/chunks. Cut lemons in half, skin on.
- Transfer the ginger, lemons and water to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat to a simmer and cover for 30 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the water juice to remove the ginger and lemon solids.
- Add honey to the obtained juice and stir well. Then, allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Transfer in a glass bottle (It makes approximatively 1L of ginger ale) and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Serve fresh with ice and topped with some soda water (optional).
*Keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
