Steaming dumplings is quick and easy, taking just 8-10 minutes. To prevent sticking, you can brush oil on the base of your steamer and dumplings, place them on lettuce leaves, or line the steamer with baking paper with small holes cut out.
Make sure to leave enough space between the dumplings for steam to circulate and to avoid them sticking together. Ensure there’s enough water in your wok or pot to prevent burning. The water should be close to the base of the steamer but not touching the food.
Once the water is boiling, place the steamer on the wok or pot and cover with the lid. Steam for about 8 minutes (or 10 minutes if the dumplings are frozen). Keep an eye on the water level, adding more boiling water if needed. Enjoy your perfectly steamed dumplings!
